Searches for songs based on various titles

Here you can search for information on songs, mostly from Hindi films. Click on the appropriate link shown in the left frame to start a search.
Song and Movie searches return the complete info of songs (title, film, actors, singer, music director, lyricist). The rest of the searches returns songs and the movies in which the song appear.

- ITRANS Song Book
- Songs to be added to the ITRANS Song Book
The lyrics of the song can also be got (if it is present in the ITRANS Song Book) by clicking on the song title in the result of each search.
You can also correct the song info and lyrics displayed in the Song and Movie queries. You need a Netscape2.0 or similar browser).
You can also get raga information for songs from Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films, and classical compositions of St. Thyagaraja, Dikshitar, Shyama Sastri, Mysore Vasudevacharya.

Acknowledgement: Most of the Hindi film songs info and songs based on raagas were compiled in rec.music.indian.misc by many posters. All the Tamil film songs based on raagas in this database is taken from the list maintained by Ramasubramanian Ramakrishnan. The Telugu songs were taken from the list that is maintained by Sreenivas Paruchuri. The list of Thyagaraja compositions were taken from a posting of Mohan Ayyar in the newsgroup rec.music.indian.classical The list of Dikshitar's composition were compiled by Narayanaswami Pallasena (swami@fermat.math.mun.ca). The list of Shyama Sastri's and Mysore Vasudevacharya's composition were taken from T. M. McComb's classical music pages.
