Some of the songs Lata has  sung  for  Hemant  Kumar  are  really
lovingly  and  fresh.   I  am  convinced  that Lata had something
special for him. This one is  very  delicate  song;  with  gentle
rhythm  and a classic 'lay' supported so well by "tabala' player.
The interesting part is initially (prelude) it sounds similar  to
(in fact it's not) that of 'Chali Gori Prite Milan Ko Chali'; but
you  don't  take  any  more  time  to  realise  the  beauty   and
superiority of this one.

With this the first round of Lata songs come to an end. Lata fans
should  not however feel down about that. We will have many more.
Next week I will try to fetch  some  'yugma-geet'  for  the  this
'geet-mala'.  Then  I  will  give  some examples of Kishor Kumar,
Shankar Das Gupta, Meena Kapoor, Trilok Kapoor etc. In short  you
can  expect some obscure duets! May not be obscure for many gurus
on net though; I consider them by large in that category. Any way
judgement will be passed by RMIMers next week! :-)
