Song: Kaga Re Jaa Re Ja Re (2)
More Piya Ka Sandeswaa La Re La Re
Film: Wafa (1949)
Music: Vinod
Lyrics: Aziz Kashmiri
Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
*ing: Nimmi, Karan Diwan
Lata's control over voice, notes in this song is extremely well.
And yet she has succeeded in sending emotional waves in a most
penetrating way. This song, IMO, should figure in any Lata top-10
list. It's a must. She starts low and goes high up, at '~~ Pi~~ya
Ka~~' and starts descending at 'Sandeswa La Re' and at second 'La
Re' is back to low notes! Vinod's masterly stamp and his
'Sarangi' is most striking here. The changing to higher notes at
intervals in the middle of antara produces amazing effect. Pathos
are unmatched. This film, IMO, is Vinod's best. Of course the
whole credit doesn't go to him, as there was this other MD too,
Bulo C. Rani. Each song of the film is a gem.
For today's purpose I will include only one song before
concluding:
Apani Apani Kismat Hai, Hai Shaa~~d Koi, Nashaad Koi
A rare beauty of Lata. BTW, the most famous song from the film
apart from today' s berth earner is a duet of Lata-Mukesh set to
tune by Bulo C. Rani. But let's wait for that for some more time.
Note: This post comes through, automated posting arrangements.
I am away till
Friday.
