Song: Mere phoolon mein chhipi hai jawaani
Mere haaron mein mere gajron mein
Koi le lo ji meri nishaani, jawaani
Film: Anokha Pyaar (1948)
Music: Anil Biswas
Lyrics: Behzad Lucknowi
Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
*ing: Dilip Kumar, Nargis
You can't help but fall in love with this incredibly sweet tune.
She starts off with a little casual humming ('dara-da-deera
dara-da-deera dara-deeri-deeri-dara', just pricked her finger or
something. And then the mukhda begins.
The 19-year-old Lata is simply exceptional in this (I think)
little-known track from one of Anilda's most memorable
soundtracks, that gave us some timeless melodies such as 'Mere
liye woh gham-e-intezaar', "Ab yaad na kar', 'Yaad rakhna chaand
taaron', etc.
There are a couple of other comparatively lesser-known but
equally enchanting Lata solos in this movie, which I shall post
in some subsequent ATMJH. But any Lata fan who hasn't heard this
tune before, _don't_ miss it. "Anokha Pyar' is available on CD
from EMI alongwith "Beqasoor', another priceless Anilda movie. A
killer buy.
