There are two songs with similar (if not identical) tune  in  the
film.  One  is this and other is 'Bhul Gaye Kyun Deke Sahara' (by
Mukesh and Shamshad).  Although  control  that  Mukesh  shows  is
better  than  that  of Surendra, I still prefer to Surendra duet.
Reason is Shamshad Begum's great singing. Her  voice  looks  (Err
sounds)  really  good  --  refined,  pure and crisp. Emotions she
fills in it makes it very touching song. When she starts her part
--  'Kaun  Bhula  Hua'  --  she changes the musical-dimension and
lifts it to a new height.

Harmony created by Naushad  using  violin  band  with  Shamshad's
voice is also an extraordinary piece of work.
