#242 Song: Gardish Me Hon Taare, Na Ghabraana Pyaare
Gar Tu Himmat Na Haare, To Honge Waare Nyaare
Film: Reshmi Rumal (1958) Music: Bipin Babul
Lyrics: Raja Mehadi Ali Khan Singer: Mukesh
*ing: Manoj Kumar, Mala Sinha?
This one is a favourite since my childhood. In 1970-1971 was a
regular on radio. (To some) It may not be the best song of the
film, yet is good enough to remember when we have just past a
milestone! Lyrics, singing and music all keeps a high tempo. Just
look at:
Baazuon Me Dum Hai Phir Kaahe Ka Gum Hai
Aahani Iraade Hain, Umange Hain Jawaan
Mushkilen Kahaan Hain, Unhe Mera Dil Pukaare ...
Isn't it true that, art actually reflects the contemporary
sociological (and perhaps economical too) currents ? Doesn't this
song reflect peace, courage and joy all at a time -- a true
reflection of nation just after a decade of independence ? Hope,
we again witness similar -- cheerful and prosperous India soon!
PS: Aaj Raksha Bandhan ke tyauhaar par, sab ko shubh-kaamnaaen!
