Song: Laut Gayaa, Gam Ka Zamaana, Aayi Khushi Leharaati
Film: Naya Aadmi (1956)
Music: Vishwanathan and Rammurty
Lyrics: Rajendra Krishna
Singer: Hemant Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar
*ing: N T Rama Rao?, ?
I can't say, how much do I love this song. I haven't yet figured
out a way to express the joy, I feel while listening to this
evergreen number. Lata and Hemant, are magical. The spell the
tune casts on listener can be only experienced. Every antara ends
in 'Laut Gayaa ...' so effortlessly, that without
interludes one would not find where antaras are starting and
where do they end! I, somehow, like all songs of this genre --
the one that spreads message of joy and/or are philosophical.
Film has one good Rafi solo too: Jagat Ka Rakhwaala Bhagwaan
..... As usual Rafi has turned this one too, in a gem. Everytime
I listen to songs of this type in Rafi's voice, my belief that
his was the voice, created by God to sing such songs, take more
firm grounds. This one or 'Mat Bhul Are Insaa~~n' or 'Jaan Sake
To Jaan' or 'Wo Kaunsi Mushkil Hai' or ... I can just go on; are
all sung with rare touch from the heart.
I have heard one more song from the film -- may be two. The one I
recall is Lata solo under same music director pair: Paanch Minute
Aur Bas Paanch Minute Aur. Song is not a great one. At the same
time, I should admit I enjoy it for it's new kind of song in
terms of lyrics.
Besides these, perhaps I have heard - only once - a Lata solo
composed by Madan Mohan, who was second, rather third composer of
the film.
