Song: Raat Bhar Ka Hai Mehmaan Andhera
Kisake Roke Ruka Hai Saveraa
Film: Sone Ki Chidiya (1958)
Music: O P Nayyar
Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianwi
Singer: Mohammad Rafi, Asha Bhonsle
*ing: Balraj Sahani, Nutan, Talat Mehmood
This song has two versions. Each has totally different antraas
different singers One is Rafi solo and other is this. Rafi
version is similar to duet version. But in duet version Asha's
short alaaps make the song more catchy. Sahir's optimism about
happenings around one's life is projected so beautifully in this
song. My favourite couplet being
Raat Jitni Bhi Sangeen Hogi
Subha Utani Hi Rangeen Hogi
What a vision! Only other parallel I find in film is Shailendra's
Pehalu Me Chhupae Dard Paraye Tu Hansanaa Hansaana Sikh
Zara
Tufaano Se Keh Do Ghir Ke Uthe Hum Pyaar Ke Deep Jalate
Hain
Let's be back to Sone Ki Chidiya songs. Seeing the cast line one
can expect Talat songs in it. Wasn't this Talat song from the
film a tandem as well ?
Pyaar Parbas To Nahi Hai Mera Phir Bhi
Tu Bataa Main? Tuze Pyaar Karun Ya Na Karun
One, a Talat-Asha (she does just humming here) and other, a Asha
solo.
Film also has one more Talat-Asha duet: I like this more than the
above one
Sach Bataa Tu Muzpe Fida Kaise Hua Aur Kab Hua
Maar Gai Teri Baanki Adaa Muze .....
A nice playful song.
Day after tomorrow, a song, that IMO, was more than an
inspiration, to today's ATMJH!
