Song: Ye Duniya Ye Duniya, Hay Hamaari Ye Duniya
Film: Yahudi (1958)
Music: Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics: Shailendra?
Singer: Mohammad Rafi
*ing: Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Sohrab Modi, ?, ?
This song is sung by a faqir on screen -- amidst mayhem, screams
of people fleeing place -- who is not terrorised at all. Rafi
sings quite high (at times almost shouting) along with good
choral effect. This song vis-a-vis other songs of films is not
known much (it's been forgotten). This is second song of it's
kind from this composer pair: the earlier one being 'Ek Do Teen'
in Aawara (1951).
Film has some nice Lata solos. 'Aate Jaate Pehalu Me Aaya Koi',
'Aansoo Ki Aag Leke Teri Yaad Aayi', Dil Me Pyaar Ka Tufaan Na
Samjhe Koi Nadan' and 'Meri Jaan Meri Jaan' are all good. I
suppose the first one has Geeta too as it's other singer.
Personally I like only first three from above list.
Film's best known song though, was this Mukesh gem
Ye Mera Diwaana Pan Hai, Ya Mohobat Ka Suroor?
Tu Ye Maane Ke Maane, Log Maanenge Zuroor
It's start is excellent. This song has a story that proves that S
and J were working quite closely, then. I suppose it's quite
famous and won't repeat here again.
