Song: He Chandrachud Shulpaane Maheshwar
Film: Yatrik (1952)
Music: Pankaj Mullick
Lyrics: Which Shiv stuti is this ?
Singer: Pankaj Mullick
*ing: ?
On Maha Shiv Raatri, here is one of the best Shiv stutis found in
Hindi films (besides one Mahakaal stuti by Manna De under
Shankarrao Vyas). The effect, Pankaj-da creates in his sweet and
'pahadi' voice excellent. His voice sounds like ringing bells of
temple. Great composition, equally great delivery.
This film is also known for it's two bhajans sung by Dhananjay
Bhattacharya. Both are very good. He possesses a voice similar
to the person who is known as much as gurudev Rabindranath in
Bengal! Those two bhajans are
Tu Dhhudhhataa Hai Jisko, Wo Tera Saanwara Salona....
and
Ghanshyam Sumar, Sukhdhaam? Sumar, Hari Naam ....
One of the last treat by Bengal's famous production house -- that
probably has now entered into folk lores -- New Theatres. Was
Kasturi (1954) also by the same company, probably their last ?
