Song: Hasina Sambhal Sambhal Ke Chal
Pad Na Jaae Kamar Me Bal, Hasina...
Film: Saqi (1952)
Music: Ramchandra Chitalkar
Lyrics: Rajendra Krishna
Singer: Chitalkar, Geeta Roy
*ing: ?
This playful song, has nothing very special about it, except it
shows combination of Chitalkar and Geeta Roy. I must also note,
that lack of "nothing special" doesn't make it unenjoyable
either. In fact, it's really nice.
Most favourite song from the film is this fabulous Rafi-Lata duet
Aa Gayi Hai Ishq Par Bahaar
Khatma Hua Hai Intezaar
Rafi is irresistible here in this number. Very different tune by
Chitalkar. I couldn't believe it was Ramchandra Chitalkar's tune,
on first listening. Great number. The only other song, in this
genre -- but not this good -- is more popular one from same
combination of Rafi-Lata-Rajendra-C Ramchandra in Albela:
"Mehfil Me Meri'. But that won't be good comparison at all.
But, thanks to HMV, we get to hear only Talat-Lata one, which,
also is very good
Kise Maalum Tha Ik Din Muhobat Bezubaan Hogi
Wo Zaalim Aasma Waale Meri Duniya Kahan Hogi
In the film Rafi sung one more song, a solo, which is forgettable
Mera Mijaz Ladakpan Se Ashikana Hai
But after all that, one may ask: But how can there be a C
Ramchandra film without any Lata solo, in 1950s ? Well, there are
three but I have heard only one. A mellow slow number, which
confuses me, as it's tune is similar to a Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram
style
Khushi Se Door Hun, Majboor Hun Beaasaraa Hun Main
