Song: Nindiya Na Aaye, Tum Bin Mohe Birahaa Sataaye
Film: Dhun (1953)
Music: Madan Mohan
Lyrics: Kaif Irfani
Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
*ing: Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Ashok Kumar
I guess this is based on Yaman. Nothing great about this song,
though; it sounds good at it's own slow pace.
Dhun has one good Lata-Hemant duet
Ham Pyaar Karenge (2), Ham Lad Ke Jhagad Ke Bhi Pyar
Karenge
I can't recall any other Hemant-Lata duet sung with such
playfulness, but one for House Number 44. It's a sweet one.
Lata also shows glimpse of her former (read earlier) style of
late 40s in
Taare Gin Gin Biti Saari Raat, Padi Hai Barsaat .....
If you like her songs from late 40s, where I find her extremely
sweet, you should like this one, with a typical Madan Mohan
stamp, reminding her songs of Ashiyanaa under his baton. But the
best Lata solo; probably best overall, IMO, for the film was
Sitaaron Se Puchho Nazaaron Se Puchho
Ke Teri Yaad Me Hum Sataaye Hue Hain~~
A melodious, soft number, Lata has immortalised. If you like
'Chaand Madhdham Hai' of Railway Platform (1955) from same
combination of Madan Mohan-Lata, then this one is also in same
genre. The pitch is higher here, for a change.
Lata also sung a sad number, by Kaif Irfani (in fact all songs
were by him), liked by me
Badi Barbaadiyan Le Kar Meri Duniya Me Pyar Aaya
Hansi Ik Baar Aayi To, Ronaa Barbaar Aaya
Above number showed up in one HMV cassette of Madan Mohan-Lata.
I, also, have heard a Rafi solo and perhaps a Talat-Asha duet
from the film, that I don't remember now :(
BTW, did Raj Kapoor and Ashok Kumar worked together elsewhere ?
Or was it Bewafa (1952) and not this one, where they appeared
together ?
