Today's ATMJH is dedicated to my father on his birthday. He loved
this song. Incidentally this was the last song we listened
together at IPCL open air theatre, Vadodara in Talat's live
concert. Knowing he loves this song so much, I sent this as
'farmaaish'. Talat ji didn't sing it for long time and took a
break. Papa told me he would live in this break. I urged him to
wait till Talat resumes. And just keeping my words, Talat started
second half with this song; apparently his pet too. Here is in
loving memories of dear father ....
#125
Song: Koi Nahi Mera Is Duniya Me, Aashiyan Barbaad Hai
Aansoo Bhari Muze Kismat Mili Hai, Zindagi
Nashaad Hai
Film: Daag (1952)
Music: Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics: Hasrat Jaipuri
Singer: Talat Mehmood
*ing: Dilip Kumar, Nimmi, Usha Kiran
This gem of a song starts with following ashaar written by Hasrat
Chaand Ek Beva Ki Chudi Ki Tarah Tuta Hua
Har Sitaara, Besahaara Soch Me Dubaa Huva
Gham Ke Baadal Ik Janaaze Ki Tarah Thehare Huve
Hichkion Ke Saaz Par Kehataa Hai Dil Rota Huva
Lovely piece of poetry. Talat sings it very well with some
excellent orchestra. Pieces of sarangi, mandolin and sitar are
used very effectively with accordion and violins.
Jaikishan came with one more Talat gem in 'Ham Dard Ke Maaron Ka
Bas Itanaa Hi Fasaana Hai'. I like these Talat songs in the order
they appear here.
Talat also shared credits with Lata for films most popular song
'Ai Mere Dil Kahin Aur Chal'. Shankar still lives in his fans
memories through such lovely compositions. He also came with my
favourite Lata song from the film:
'Kahe Ko Der Lagayi Re, Aye Na Ab Tak Baalma'.
Lata's singing is great and equally commendable is tune set and
variations of rhythm, octave for stanzas and mukhda. Brilliant
attempt.
Jaikishan brought to us Shailendra's 'Laage Jab Se Nain Laage' in
Lata's sweet voice. A soothing number. Lata also brought to us a
sad number through Shankar, and farely popular song 'Preet Ye
Kaisi Bol Ri Duniya'. This song has very good usage of
mandolin?.
Finally one more song of Lata, that marks start of the movie
'Dekho Aaya Ye Kaisa Zamaana' -- a forgettable song.
